What You’ll Need to Replace your Vehicle Title in Connecticut

  • By Mail or In Person Title Replacement
  • Online Replacement
    • Full name
    • Date of birth
    • Driver’s license or ID number
    • Plate number and class (i.e. passenger, etc.)
    • Payment for the $20 replacement registration fee

 

What You’ll Do to Replace your Vehicle Title in Connecticut

  • If replacing your title in person:
  • If by mail:
    • Step 1: You must complete all the required documents
      • The Form B-341 must include your name, address, vehicle type, plate number, and signature 
    • Step 2: Include the $20 fee payment by either check or money order payable to The Department of Motor Vehicles (include your plate number on the check)
    • Step 3: Mail it to:

                              Customized Services Division—Duplicate Registrations

  • If Requesting Online:
    • Step 1: Visit the Online Registration Replacement Portal
    • Step 2: Provide all the required information
    • Step 3: Pay the applicable fees
    • Step 4: Print a copy of your car registration. Additional reprints will cost $20
