What You’ll Need to Replace your Vehicle Title in Connecticut
- By Mail or In Person Title Replacement
- A completed Request for a Duplicate Motor Vehicle Registration (Form B-341).
- Your marker plate number.
- Payment for the $20 fee for duplicate registration (if renewing by mail, send it by either check or money order)
- Online Replacement
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license or ID number
- Plate number and class (i.e. passenger, etc.)
- Payment for the $20 replacement registration fee
What You’ll Do to Replace your Vehicle Title in Connecticut
- If replacing your title in person:
- Step 1: You need to visit any DMV Hub Office or Limited Service Office
- Step 2: Submit all the required documents
- Step 3: Pay the $20 fee for duplicate registration
- If by mail:
- Step 1: You must complete all the required documents
- The Form B-341 must include your name, address, vehicle type, plate number, and signature
- Step 2: Include the $20 fee payment by either check or money order payable to The Department of Motor Vehicles (include your plate number on the check)

- Step 1: Visit the Online Registration Replacement Portal
- Step 2: Provide all the required information
- Step 3: Pay the applicable fees
- Step 4: Print a copy of your car registration. Additional reprints will cost $20
